What qualifications does the academy offer? |
Carolyn Wyman, director and head instructor, was trained in Europe for her advanced studies. She has had experience teaching children in Oxford and has performed in London. She received her degree in music from the Guildhall School of Music in London, and her bachelor of arts degree from U.C.L.A. Ms. Wyman is a registered teacher with the Suzuki Association of the Americas and has received training from Dr. Suzuki in Matsumoto, Japan. She is an active member of the Suzuki Association of Washington State and taught at the University of Puget Sound Suzuki Institute for many years. She currently teaches in her private studio in Bellevue and performs with the Bellevue Philharmonic Orchestra. Ms. Wyman studied for nearly six years in Europe. In England, she studied under and became assistant to Kato Havas in the New Approach. Carolyn also has written and lectured on string technique in England and in the United States. |
